Made in Heights

Made in Heights is an American electronic duo formed in 2010, consisting of vocalist Kelsey Bulkin and producer Alexei Saba (Sabzi). The project represents a unique stylistic pivot for Sabzi, who gained prominence as the producer for the socially conscious hip-hop group Blue Scholars.

In Made in Heights, he applies his boom-bap sensibilities to a more ethereal, pop-oriented framework. The duo's sound is characterized by Bulkin's 'whisper-pop' vocals, which are often multi-tracked to create a ghostly, choral effect. Their discography evolved from the lo-fi, experimental sketches of their self-titled debut to the high-fidelity, art-pop sophistication of 2015's 'Without My Enemy What Would I Do'.
