Mai Tai

Mai Tai is a seminal Dutch dance-pop trio formed in 1983 by producers Eric van Tijn and Jochem Fluitsma. The group, consisting of Jetty Weels, Mildred Douglas, and Caroline de Windt, emerged from the backing vocal circuit to become one of the most successful international exports of the Netherlands during the mid-1980s.

Their sound identity is characterized by a sophisticated fusion of soul, disco, and synth-pop, often referred to as 'Euro-soul.' This was achieved through high-end studio production that utilized the latest digital synthesis and drum programming of the era, coupled with the group's technical vocal prowess.
