Malt is a prominent Turkish hard rock quartet formed in 2005, led by the charismatic Cenk Durmazel. Durmazel, already a cult figure in Turkey due to his media career, transitioned from the glam-rock leanings of his previous band Badluck to a heavier, more modern sound with Malt.
The band's instrumental core consists of members from Üçnoktabir, lending the project a high level of technical proficiency from its inception. Their sound is frequently compared to Audioslave and Foo Fighters, characterized by big choruses, heavy syncopation, and a 'live-in-room' production feel.
