Marek Bois

Marek Bois is the specialized minimal techno alias of Niklas Worgt, better known as Dapayk. Launched in the mid-2000s, the project emerged during the peak of the 'minimal' craze that dominated European clubs, particularly in Berlin.

While Worgt's work as Dapayk often incorporates more melodic elements and vocal collaborations (notably with Eva Padberg), Marek Bois was designed as a vehicle for 'straight, minimal rocking tracks.' The sound identity is defined by a reductive approach to production: dry percussion, absence of traditional harmonic structures, and a heavy reliance on micro-sampling and glitch aesthetics. Released on influential labels like Mo's Ferry and Karloff, the Bois catalog represents the more aggressive, functional side of the minimal movement. Critically, the project is respected for its technical precision and its ability to maintain dancefloor momentum without relying on big-room tropes. It sits in a lineage of German electronic music that prizes structural integrity and sonic cleanliness over emotional sentimentality.
