Sun-drenched pop that pairs Caribbean rhythmic warmth with soulful, bittersweet songwriting. Perfect for golden hour drives and reflective summer evenings.
Marlon Roudette creates a sound that feels like a bridge between the urban pulse of London and the breezy, rhythmic warmth of St. Vincent. His music is characterized by a polished, mid-tempo groove that often hides a layer of melancholic reflection beneath its accessible pop surface. It is the kind of music that feels equally at home on a high-end car stereo or a beachside speaker, blending organic instrumentation with sleek electronic production.
What truly distinguishes Roudette is his ability to integrate Caribbean influences, particularly subtle steel pan textures and reggae-inflected phrasing, into a sophisticated European pop context. His voice is smooth and understated, avoiding histrionics in favor of a gentle, soulful delivery that makes his stories of love and self-discovery feel intimate and lived-in. There is a specific 'liquid' quality to his arrangements that makes the tracks flow effortlessly.
Start with 'When the Beat Drops Out' to hear his signature blend of tropical rhythm and chart-ready hooks. From there, explore 'Electric Soul' to appreciate the depth of his production and his knack for creating atmospheres that feel both expansive and deeply personal. It is essential listening for anyone who appreciates pop with a genuine rhythmic soul.
