Maybird

Maybird is an American psychedelic rock outfit formed in Rochester, New York, later relocating to Brooklyn. Led by singer-songwriter Josh Netsky, the band evolved from a roots-oriented folk project into a sophisticated neo-psychedelic ensemble.

Their sound identity is characterized by the prominent use of pedal steel guitar, played by Kurt Johnson, which provides a gliding, ethereal texture rarely found in standard indie rock. This 'liquid' sonic quality is further enhanced by reverb-heavy production and intricate vocal layering. The band gained significant traction following their signing to 30th Century Records, the label founded by producer Danger Mouse, who also co-produced their 2016 EP.
