Methods of Mayhem was formed in 1999 by Tommy Lee during a period of professional and personal transition. Following his temporary departure from Mötley Crüe, Lee sought to explore the burgeoning rap-metal and nu-metal scenes, moving beyond the hair metal foundations of his youth.
