Militia

Militia is a seminal project within the European industrial and martial industrial scenes, primarily associated with the Belgian collective led by Frank Gorissen. Formed in the late 1980s, the group evolved from a home-recording experiment into a sophisticated percussion ensemble.

Their sound identity is defined by the 'Three Pillars' of their aesthetic: self-made scrap metal percussion, custom wind instruments, and a staunchly anarchist, eco-conscious ideological framework. Unlike many of their contemporaries who leaned into nihilism, Militia’s work is often characterized by a constructive, albeit aggressive, social critique.
