Aggressive Florida metalcore defined by razor-sharp riffs and uncompromising vegan straight edge conviction. High-intensity music for those who demand total sincerity.
Morning Again is a seminal figure in the 1990s 'new school' metalcore movement, specifically within the vegan straight edge (XVX) subculture. Formed in 1995 in Cooper City, Florida, the band acted as a central hub for the prolific Florida hardcore scene, sharing a 'sister band' relationship with Culture and featuring members who would later populate influential acts like As Friends Rust and New Found Glory.
Their sound identity is built on a foundation of Slayer-influenced thrash riffs, Slayer-esque dive bombs, and the rhythmic 'chug' that would eventually define modern metalcore. Unlike many of their peers who leaned into chaotic noise, Morning Again utilized more structured, melodic arrangements and clean, spoken interludes to deliver their anti-government and anti-religious messages. Critically, they are viewed as architects of the 'Good Life Recordings' sound, bridging the gap between American hardcore and the European H8000 scene. Their 1998 album, 'As Tradition Dies Slowly', remains a high-water mark for the genre, praised for its technicality and ideological purity. After a long hiatus and various side projects, their 2018 return via Revelation Records reaffirmed their status as elder statesmen of the genre, maintaining their aggressive sonic palette while updating their production values for a new generation.
