High-gloss, arena-sized pop that feels like a lost 1970s masterpiece. Shimmering synths and massive vocal harmonies for moments of pure, unironic joy.
Music Go Music sounds like the most expensive, glamorous dream of the 1970s filtered through a modern indie lens. It is a world of technicolor production, where every synth line is a laser beam and every vocal harmony is a cathedral. The music carries the DNA of ABBA's precision and ELO's orchestral ambition, but it is delivered with a certain restless energy that betrays the band's indie-rock roots. It is bright, bold, and unapologetically huge.
What makes them distinctive is the sheer density of their arrangements. While many modern 'retro' acts settle for a thin veneer of nostalgia, Music Go Music builds towering walls of sound using analog textures that feel tactile and warm. Gala Bell's vocals are a masterclass in layering, often sounding like a one-woman choir that can pivot from intimate whispers to soaring, operatic heights within a single chorus. There is a savage efficiency to the songwriting; these are pop songs built with the structural integrity of a skyscraper.
Start with 'Expressions' if you want to hear the full realization of their 'future greatest hits' aesthetic. It is an album that feels like a celebration of pop music's power to transform the mundane into the magical. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who loves the intersection of high-concept art pop and pure, danceable disco-rock.
