My Idea is a Brooklyn-based duo consisting of Lily Konigsberg (of the art-punk band Palberta) and Nate Amos (of the experimental project Water From Your Eyes). Formed in 2021, the project represents a synthesis of Konigsberg's melodic sensibilities and Amos's avant-garde production background.
Their sound is characterized by a 'post-genre' approach to indie pop, frequently incorporating elements of folk, electronica, and chamber pop. Critically, they are noted for their lyrical honesty and the 'dry' intimacy of their recordings, which eschews heavy reverb for a more immediate, conversational feel.
