Nite Jewel is the project of Los Angeles-based artist Ramona Gonzalez, a key figure in the late 2000s emergence of hypnagogic pop and lo-fi electronic music. Emerging from the same DIY scene as Ariel Pink and Julia Holter, Gonzalez utilized 8-track cassette recorders to create a signature 'murky' sound that reimagined 80s synth-pop and freestyle through a lens of experimentalism.
