Northern Kings

Northern Kings is a Finnish symphonic metal supergroup formed in 2007, consisting of four of the most prominent vocalists in the Nordic metal scene: Marco Hietala (ex-Nightwish, Tarot), Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Jarkko Ahola (Teräsbetoni), and JP Leppäluoto (Charon). The project's primary identity is built on the 'metalization' of 1980s pop and rock classics, utilizing the high-production standards of symphonic and power metal.

Their sound is characterized by lush orchestral arrangements, prominent synthesizers, and a focus on vocal interplay that highlights the different timbres of the four leads, ranging from Hietala's gritty power to Kakko's melodic agility.
