Oxmo Puccino (Abdoulaye Diarra) is a pillar of French hip-hop, often cited as the genre's greatest lyricist. His 1998 debut, 'Opéra Puccino,' is a certified classic that introduced a cinematic, metaphor-rich flow. Throughout the 2000s, he evolved significantly, most notably on 'Lipopette Bar' (2006), where he collaborated with the jazz group The Jazzbastards, effectively bridging the gap between boom bap and live jazz instrumentation.
