Intro

Parmalee delivers a sound that feels like a warm breeze through a car window. It is undeniably country, rooted in the storytelling and grit of their North Carolina origins, but it is dressed in a high-gloss production style that leans heavily into modern pop and R&B rhythms. The guitars have a slight rock edge, a remnant of their early days in the post-grunge scene, but the focus is always on the hook. Their music is designed to be accessible, catchy, and deeply melodic.

What truly sets them apart is the familial chemistry. As a band of brothers and cousins, their vocal harmonies have a natural, locked-in quality that provides a rich bed for Matt Thomas's distinctive, slightly raspy lead vocals. They have mastered the 'snap-track' country sound, blending traditional acoustic elements with programmed percussion and soulful phrasing that makes their tracks feel as at home on a pop playlist as they do on country radio.

Start with 'Carolina' to hear their rootsy, anthemic side, then move to 'Just the Way' to experience their successful pivot into rhythmic, cross-genre pop-country. It is the perfect soundtrack for anyone who wants the sentiment of the South paired with the energy of a modern Top 40 hit.

Parmalee is an American country music band from Parmele, North Carolina. The band consists of brothers Matt Thomas (lead vocals, guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums), along with their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and Josh McSwain (guitar). Parmalee has also had five number-one singles on the Billboard Country Airplay charts: "Carolina", "Just the Way" (featuring Blanco Brown), "Take My Name", "Gonna Love You", and "Cowgirl".
