Pentimento emerged from the fertile Buffalo, New York punk scene in 2011, quickly distinguishing themselves from the 'pizza-pop-punk' explosion of the era through a more mature, introspective approach. The band's career is defined by a steady evolution from the raw, aggressive energy of their debut 'Wrecked' EP toward the lush, atmospheric arrangements found on their final LP, 'I, No Longer.' Critically, they were often grouped with the 'Emo Revival' movement, though their sound maintained a distinct blue-collar grit. A significant chapter in their history involves their close relationship with James Dewees, serving as the backing band for Reggie and the Full Effect, which showcased their technical versatility.
