Intro

Peter Cincotti sounds like the intersection of a smoky 1950s jazz club and a modern cinematic pop stage. His music is anchored by his prodigious piano talent, which moves fluidly from intricate jazz runs to driving, rhythmic pop-rock chords. His voice is a classic baritone croon, delivered with the precision of a theater performer but the intimacy of a singer-songwriter.

What sets him apart is his ability to modernize the Great American Songbook tradition without leaning on irony. While his early work is firmly rooted in the vocal jazz tradition, his later material incorporates blues, funk, and rock elements, often featuring lush orchestral arrangements and high-fidelity production that feels expansive and expensive. It is music for the metropolitan soul, balancing technical skill with accessible, melodic hooks.

Start with his self-titled debut for a masterclass in young, revitalized jazz standards. If you prefer something more contemporary and original, 'East of Angel Town' showcases his evolution into a sophisticated pop-rock storyteller, blending his piano roots with a broader, more ambitious sonic palette.

Peter Cincotti (born July 11, 1983) is an American singer-songwriter. He began playing piano at the age of three. While in high school, he regularly performed in clubs throughout Manhattan. In 2003, Cincotti's debut album, produced by Phil Ramone, reached No. 1 on the Billboard jazz chart, making Cincotti the youngest musician to do so. This led to performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, L'Olympia, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the Montreux Jazz Festival where he won an award in the piano competition. Cincotti's style blends pop, rock, blues, and jazz.
