Intro

Formed in 1962 in Timișoara, Romania, the rock band Phoenix—originally known as Sfinții—was established by guitarists Nicu Covaci and Kamocsa Béla. The group gained prominence during the 1970s by pioneering the ethno rock subgenre, effectively blending their foundational rock and roll sound with traditional Romanian folk music. Throughout their career, the ensemble released music under various labels, including Electrecord and Bacillus Records, before disbanding in 1977.
