Piemont

Piemont is a German electronic duo consisting of Frederic Möring-Sack and Christian de Jonquieres, formed in Hamburg in 2007. Emerging from the fertile minimal techno scene of the mid-2000s, they quickly distinguished themselves through a highly polished, 'tech-house' aesthetic that prioritized rhythmic complexity over melodic ornamentation.

Their early career was marked by a prolific output on influential labels like My Best Friend (MBF) and their own imprints, Suchtreflex and Wahrhaft. Their sound identity is built on a foundation of 'surgical' production, utilizing digital clarity to highlight intricate percussion and sub-heavy basslines. Critically, they are viewed as masters of the 'after-hours' sound, capable of producing tracks that function equally well in a peak-time club set or as immersive home listening. They represent a bridge between the austerity of the Cologne minimal scene and the more groove-oriented house traditions of Hamburg and Berlin.
