Platina Jazz

Platina Jazz is a collaborative project founded in 2009 by Swedish house producer and jazz pianist Rasmus Faber. The group specializes in 'jazzifying' iconic anime theme songs, treating them as part of a modern canon of standards.

Based in Stockholm but primarily targeting the Japanese market, the ensemble consists of elite Swedish jazz musicians who bring a high level of technical proficiency to the arrangements. Their sound identity is defined by a blend of cool jazz, hard bop, and big band influences, characterized by hi-fi production and a warm, acoustic aesthetic. Over the course of several 'Anime Standards' volumes, they have covered everything from 1970s classics to contemporary hits. Faber's deep involvement in the anime industry as a composer (The Asterisk War) provides the project with an authentic bridge between the Swedish jazz scene and Japanese media culture. Critically, they are praised for avoiding the 'novelty' trap, instead delivering sincere, virtuosic performances that appeal to both audiophiles and the global anime fandom.
