Porches is the primary creative vehicle for New York-based musician Aaron Maine. This transition was solidified with the 2016 release of 'Pool,' an album that redefined Maine's sound through the use of house-influenced rhythms, submerged synth pads, and a more controlled, breathy vocal delivery. His work is characterized by a recurring theme of urban loneliness and the tension between domesticity and the restlessness of youth. Critically, Maine is often grouped with the 'New York indie' scene of the mid-2010s, maintaining close ties to artists like Blood Orange and Mitski. His influence is felt in the rise of 'bedroom pop,' where high-concept electronic production meets deeply personal, diaristic songwriting.
