Intro

Listening to Propaganda feels like sitting in on a graduate-level seminar that somehow takes place on a street corner at 2 AM. The music is grounded in the boom-bap tradition but is elevated by a sophisticated, unhurried delivery that owes as much to slam poetry as it does to golden-era rap. There is a tactile, dusty quality to the production, often favoring warm analog crackle and sparse melodic loops that leave plenty of room for the weight of the words to land.

What sets him apart is the sheer density of his perspective. He manages to weave together complex threads of racial identity, theological inquiry, and sociopolitical critique without ever sounding like he is lecturing. His flow is conversational yet rhythmically precise, often breaking into pure spoken word passages that demand your full attention. It is music that respects the listener's intelligence, offering layers of meaning that only reveal themselves after multiple spins.

Start with the album Excellent. It serves as the perfect bridge between his underground roots and his more polished, conceptual work. The title track alone provides a masterclass in his ability to dismantle cultural tropes while maintaining a compelling, head-nodding groove. From there, move into Crimson Cord for a deeper, more personal exploration of his own history and the concept of the 'red thread' connecting human experience.
