PVRIS, led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Lyndsey 'Lynn Gunn' Gunnulfsen, represents a pivotal shift in the 2010s alternative scene where the boundaries between Warped Tour rock and dark electropop dissolved. Originally formed as a metalcore outfit called Operation Guillotine, the band quickly shed their heavy roots for a 'dark pop' sound on their debut LP 'White Noise'.
