Pyro (Thomas Sunhede) is a pivotal figure in the Scandinavian drum and bass scene, specifically noted as the first Danish producer to achieve significant international recognition in the genre. Emerging in the mid-1990s, his sound evolved alongside the techstep and neurofunk movements, characterized by a fusion of techno's rhythmic rigidity and drum and bass's complex breakbeat architecture.

His partnership with Paul Reset led to the formation of Nerve Recordings in 2001, a label that became a crucial hub for the 'techno-dnb' sound and helped launch the careers of global heavyweights like Noisia and Gridlok.
