Formed in 1996 in Istanbul, Redd has evolved into one of Turkey's most respected alternative rock acts. Originally founded as 'Ten' by brothers Doğan and Güneş Duru alongside Berke Hatipoğlu, the band spent years honing their craft in the live circuit before their 2005 debut '50/50'.
Their sound identity is uniquely defined by Doğan Duru's background as a tenor opera singer, which provides a theatrical and highly technical vocal foundation rarely seen in the genre. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, they moved away from straightforward pop-rock toward ambitious art-rock and concept-driven projects, most notably '21', a 74-minute odyssey. They have a significant cultural footprint in Turkey, known for their social awareness and collaboration with acclaimed director Çağan Irmak on film scores.
