Soulful Black Sea folk that feels like mountain mist and salt air. Warm acoustic arrangements meet the distinctive, rhythmic pulse of traditional Turkish highlands.
Resul Dindar creates music that feels like a deep breath of mountain air. It is rooted firmly in the Karadeniz (Black Sea) region of Turkey, characterized by its organic instrumentation and a vocal delivery that balances rugged intensity with a gentle, crooning warmth. The sound is defined by the interplay of traditional elements like the kemençe and tulum with modern acoustic guitar and polished studio production, creating a bridge between ancient village traditions and contemporary folk-pop.
What makes Dindar truly distinctive is his linguistic commitment. He does not just sing in Turkish; he weaves in Laz, Megrel, Georgian, and Hemşin, the endangered languages of the Eastern Black Sea. This gives his music a unique phonetic texture and a sense of cultural preservation. The rhythms often mirror the 'horon' - a traditional circle dance - giving even his slower ballads a subtle, propulsive energy that feels like the ebb and flow of the tide.
For a first listen, start with the album 'Dalgalan Karadeniz'. It perfectly captures the atmospheric, misty quality of his work and serves as a definitive guide to the sounds of the Turkish highlands. It is the ideal soundtrack for moments of reflection, long drives through nature, or any time you want to feel connected to a specific sense of place and heritage.
