His sound identity is defined by a deep reverence for 1960s pop culture, cinematic samples, and a distinctively 'electropical' dub influence. Daumail was a founding member of the band Oui Oui alongside Michel Gondry, and this art-pop sensibility carried over into his solo work. His cultural peak occurred in 1998 when 'Peace and Tranquility to Earth' became the sonic backdrop for the documentary 'Les yeux dans les bleus', forever linking his music to France's World Cup victory.
