However, his career trajectory shifted dramatically in the mid-1990s toward a more organic, jazz-influenced aesthetic. His 1996 collaboration with Peven Everett, 'Gabriel', is widely cited as one of the most influential house tracks of all time, credited with laying the rhythmic groundwork for the UK Garage movement through its distinctive 2-step shuffle and live horn arrangements.
