Intro

Samuele Bersani creates music that occupies the delicate space between high-brow literature and accessible pop. His sound is characterized by a warm, organic production style where acoustic pianos and gentle electronics provide a soft bed for his distinctive, conversational vocals. It is music that feels deeply Italian in its melodic sensibility but avoids the clichés of traditional pop by embracing surrealism and complex emotional honesty.

What truly sets Bersani apart is his lyrical dexterity. He is a master of the 'nonsense' that actually makes perfect sense, using abstract metaphors and sharp wordplay to dissect modern relationships and societal anxieties. His songs often start with a mundane detail and spiral into profound existential reflections, delivered with a breathy, intimate vocal style that makes the listener feel like the sole confidant of his secrets.

For those new to his catalog, starting with the 1997 masterpiece 'Giudizi universali' is essential. It represents the pinnacle of his ability to blend heartbreaking melody with poetic depth. From there, explore his more rhythmic, ironic side with tracks like 'Chicco e Spillo' or 'Freak' to see how he balances heavy themes with a playful, almost mischievous energy.

Samuele Bersani (born 1 October 1970) is an Italian singer-songwriter. He received the "Mia Martini" Critics Award at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2000 and in 2012, with the songs "Replay" and "Un pallone", respectively. His best known songs also include "Giudizi universali", released in 1997 and certified in 2017 as a platinum-selling single by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry, and "Spaccacuore," which was later covered by Italian singer Laura Pausini. He wrote the lyrics of Lucio Dalla's song "Canzone." In 2000, Bersani recorded the soundtrack of the film Chiedimi se sono felice, by Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo. In 2007, he won the Amnesty International Italy "Voci per la liberta" Award for "Occhiali rotti", a song included in his album L'aldiqua (2006) and written in memory of journalist Enzo Baldoni. His record Cinema Samuele received the Targa Tenco for Best Album in 2021.
