Scandroid

Scandroid is the primary synthwave outlet for Klayton, the prolific multi-instrumentalist and producer behind Celldweller and the FiXT label. Launched in 2013, the project initially included producer Varien before becoming a solo endeavor.

Scandroid represents a sophisticated evolution of the 'retrowave' movement, characterized by its high production values and narrative focus on cyberpunk themes. Musically, it bridges the gap between 1980s New Wave pop and modern EDM, utilizing dense digital synthesis and Klayton's signature vocal processing. The project has achieved significant commercial success within the electronic niche, frequently appearing on Billboard and iTunes charts. Critically, Scandroid is noted for its 'muscular' sound, which incorporates more complex arrangements and rock-influenced dynamics than typical synthwave peers.
