Sin

The group is most notable for its core lineup featuring Mona Moore, Andy Orel, and Richard Dorfmeister, the latter of whom would go on to global fame as one half of Kruder & Dorfmeister.

Sin's sound identity is a sophisticated blend of trip-hop, downtempo, and industrial-tinged electronica, characterized by Moore's breathy, noir-inflected vocals and Orel's meticulous production. Their work on the Abuse Industries label helped define the 'Vienna Sound' - a more atmospheric, dub-heavy, and lounge-adjacent cousin to the UK trip-hop scene. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Sin evolved from a more experimental, industrial-leaning outfit into a polished downtempo act, peaking with albums like 'Insinuation' (1998) and 'Absinth' (2005).
