Sir Reg

Sir Reg is a Swedish-based Celtic punk powerhouse formed in 2009 by Dublin native Brendan Sheehy. The band's identity is built on the tension between Sheehy's authentic Irish storytelling and the technical proficiency of his Swedish bandmates.

Emerging from the ashes of 'The Barcrawlers,' a dedicated pub-circuit ensemble, Sir Reg transitioned from traditional covers to original compositions that blend the melodic sensibilities of 90s Britpop (Oasis, Blur) with the aggressive folk-punk blueprint established by Flogging Molly and The Pogues. Their sound is characterized by prominent, fast-paced fiddle leads, driving punk rhythms, and lyrics that frequently engage with socio-political themes, particularly the economic rise and fall of Ireland. Critically, they are recognized for a more polished, 'stadium-ready' production style compared to the lo-fi grit of early folk-punk, making them a staple of the European festival circuit.
