SOMMA

SOMMA (Sacred Order of Music Magic and Art) is a multidisciplinary project led by Italian producer Eraldo Bernocchi and visual artist Petulia Mattioli. While their early work focused on avant-garde integrations of Tibetan chanting and electronic jazz, their more recent output has pivoted toward a highly successful intersection of melodic techno, downtempo, and deep house.

This evolution has seen them gain significant traction in the streaming era, particularly with tracks like 'Body on Fire' and 'Howling.' The project's sonic identity is defined by a 'live-to-studio' reconstruction process, where live improvisations are meticulously edited into polished electronic tracks. This results in a unique tension between organic performance and digital perfection. Culturally, SOMMA sits at the crossroads of the European club scene and the experimental world music tradition, influenced by the likes of Bill Laswell and the broader industrial-ambient movement.
