Splash was a German Eurodance project formed in 1990 by producers Giorgio and Martin Koppehele, known professionally as G. + M.
Cope. Based in Munich, the group was part of the first wave of German dance acts that successfully synthesized the emerging techno-house sounds of the UK and US into a commercially viable European pop format. The group's sonic identity relied heavily on the 'Diva and Rapper' archetype, featuring vocalists Marcus Deon Thomas (Eric P. III) and Aimee McCoy. Their debut album, 'Splash' (1991), and subsequent singles like 'I Need Rhythm' showcased a sophisticated use of Korg and Roland synthesizers, characteristic of the era's high-end studio production.
