Intro

Stefanie Hertel embodies the sun-drenched, wholesome spirit of Volksmusik and Schlager. Her music is a vibrant tapestry of traditional Alpine sounds blended with polished pop production, characterized by her clear soprano and remarkable yodeling ability. It feels like a warm embrace from a simpler time, emphasizing community, nature, and the joy of life.

What truly sets her apart is the technical precision of her vocal work. While many pop artists lean on studio magic, Hertel’s background as a child prodigy shines through in her effortless vocal leaps and the organic integration of brass and accordion. There is a genuine, unpretentious cheerfulness in her delivery that avoids the cynicism of modern pop.

Start with 'Über jedes Bacherl geht a Brückerl' to hear the definitive Grand Prix-winning sound that made her a household name. It perfectly captures her ability to turn traditional folk motifs into catchy, accessible anthems for all ages.

In 1992, she won the Grand Prix der Volksmusik, which trumpeter Stefan Mross had won in 1989 with Heimwehmelodie, with the song Über jedes Bacherl geht a Brückerl, having finished fifth the previous year with So a Stückerl heile Welt.
