Still Life (often stylized in lowercase) is a contemporary slowcore project that emerged in the mid-2010s, distinct from the 90s emotional hardcore band of the same name. Their sound identity is built on the foundations of 90s slowcore pioneers like Duster and Low, but filtered through a modern bedroom-pop intimacy.

Lyrically, the project focuses on themes of urban isolation, memory, and existential quietude. Since the release of 'june / whispers' in 2016, the artist has maintained a prolific output, culminating in the critically acclaimed 'for a long time i went to bed early' in 2020. Within the modern indie underground, Still Life is regarded as a key figure in the revival of 'sadcore' aesthetics, praised for an uncompromising commitment to slow tempos and hushed dynamics.
