Sassy, soul-infused British pop with tight three-part harmonies and a London edge. It is Motown energy filtered through 21st-century urban attitude.
Stooshe brings a refreshing, street-smart energy to the girl group format, trading the polished perfection of their contemporaries for a more raw, soulful, and distinctly London sound. Their music is built on a foundation of classic Motown and 60s girl group harmonies, but it is dressed in modern R&B production and a healthy dose of 'don't care' attitude. It feels like a night out in Brixton or Shoreditch, full of character and vocal fireworks.
What truly sets them apart is their vocal interplay. Rather than one lead singer and two backups, they operate as a true trio, weaving complex harmonies and trading lines with a conversational ease. Their lyrics are often cheeky and irreverent, leaning into their Southeast London roots with slang and a vocal delivery that feels authentic rather than manufactured. They manage to be both retro-leaning and firmly rooted in the 2010s urban pop landscape.
Start with 'Black Heart' to hear their harmonic precision at its most cinematic, then dive into 'Love Me' for their high-energy, playful side. If you want to hear their technical ability, their cover of 'Waterfalls' showcases how they can take a classic and make it feel entirely their own through vocal arrangement alone.
