Strike emerged from Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, in the mid-2000s, becoming a pivotal force in the 'Brazilian Emo' and pop punk explosion. Their debut album, Desvio de Conduta (2007), achieved Platinum status, propelled by the massive success of 'O Jogo Virou.'
Sonically, they bridge the gap between melodic hardcore and commercial pop rock, characterized by fast tempos, octave-heavy guitar leads, and anthemic choruses. They were central to the 'Geração MTV' era in Brazil, alongside peers like NX Zero and Fresno, but maintained a slightly grittier, skate-influenced aesthetic. Their evolution through albums like Hiperativo saw them incorporating subtle electronic elements and more sophisticated production while retaining their high-energy core.
