Style of Eye

Sleek Swedish house with a percussive edge. High-energy grooves that bridge the gap between underground minimal techno and chart-topping festival anthems.

Intro

Style of Eye delivers a masterclass in rhythmic tension and high-gloss electronic production. The sound is characterized by a distinctively Swedish precision, blending the clinical efficiency of minimal techno with the infectious, floor-filling energy of tech house. It feels like a high-speed chase through a digital landscape, where every metallic snare hit and synth stab is placed with surgical accuracy.

What sets Linus Eklöw apart is his ability to inject a sense of playfulness into otherwise rigid structures. While his early work leaned into the quirky, 'dirty' aesthetics of the San Francisco house scene, his later output evolved into a polished, maximalist pop-dance hybrid. This duality allows his music to function both as a sophisticated underground tool and a massive mainstage catalyst.

New listeners should dive into 'Footprints' to hear his pop-sensible evolution, or revisit the 'H-Bomb' era for a taste of the raw, percussive energy that first caught the attention of the global techno elite. It is music designed for movement, best experienced at high volumes where the intricate percussion can truly breathe.

Johan Linus Eklöw (born 29 August 1979), better known by his stage name Style of Eye, is a Swedish DJ, record producer, songwriter and percussionist. He was part of the electropop music group Galantis from 2012. He has worked with Usher, Kylie Minogue, Lily Allen, Zedd, Miike Snow, Slagsmålsklubben, Tom Staar, Lars Allertz, Soso, and many more through collaborations and/or remixes. In 2012, Linus teamed up with Christian Karlsson to form the super duo, Galantis. His early 2013 single Taken Over, featuring Rebecca & Fiona, peaked at 33 on the Swedish charts. On April 23, 2014, Linus was awarded at ASCAP's 31st Annual Pop Music Awards for Icona Pop's international hit, "I Love It" featuring Charli XCX, which he co-wrote and produced alongside Patrik Berger. Footprints, his second full length released in October 2014 on Ultra Records, was nominated for a Swedish Grammy. The album includes the released singles: Kids (which went platinum in Sweden), The Game, and Love Looks.
