Intro

Swanky Tunes deliver a sound that is unapologetically big, polished, and built for the largest speakers imaginable. Their music occupies the sweet spot between the gritty, syncopated energy of mid-2000s electro and the soaring, emotional peaks of modern progressive house. It is the sound of a city that never sleeps, characterized by shimmering digital textures and a rhythmic drive that feels both relentless and sophisticated.

What sets them apart is their ability to blend the aggressive 'dirty' synth sounds of the Russian electro scene with a pop-leaning melodic sensibility. They use heavy sidechain compression to create a 'pumping' effect that makes the tracks feel like they are breathing in time with the listener. Their production is dense and maximalist, often layering multiple synth lines to create a wall of sound that feels massive without losing its danceable groove.

Start with 'Far From Home' or 'Blood Rush' to experience their peak festival energy. These tracks showcase their signature combination of melodic builds and hard-hitting drops. If you want something with a bit more grit, dive into their earlier electro-house collaborations which highlight their roots in the Smolensk underground scene.

Swanky Tunes (stylized as SWΛNKУ TUИES) are a Russian electronic dance music duo composed of Vadim Shpak and Dmitry Burykin, formed in Smolensk in 1998. Prior to 2012, they have collaborated closely with another Russian EDM duo, Hard Rock Sofa. They were ranked number 97 of the DJ Mag charts in 2015. The duo owns the label Showland, sub-label Armada Music (2015–2018), and has a weekly podcast of the same name.
