Crystalline electric guitar arpeggios over skeletal drum machines. Fragile, atmospheric post-punk that feels like a watercolor painting of a rainy Manchester afternoon.
Formed in Manchester in 1978, The Durutti Column is the primary project of guitarist Vini Reilly. As one of the original acts signed to Factory Records, the group carved out a distinct identity within the post-punk and new wave scenes. Reilly’s signature atmospheric guitar style integrates elements of jazz, folk, and classical music, while later recordings expanded the band's sonic palette to include electronic dance rhythms and experimental sampling techniques.
