Formed in New York City in 2000, The Fiery Furnaces are an American indie rock band led by siblings Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger. Throughout their career, the duo has released ambitious, conceptual music that often sparked varied critical reactions. After a lengthy hiatus beginning in 2011, the pair reunited in 2020. The group has maintained a notable presence in the industry, releasing work through labels such as Rough Trade, Fat Possum, and Third Man Records.
