Intro

The Hardkiss delivers a sound that is both iron-clad and deeply emotional. It is the sound of modern Kyiv: sleek, resilient, and technologically sophisticated. Julia Sanina's vocals are the centerpiece, possessing a rare ability to pivot from a delicate, crystalline whisper to a thunderous, operatic belt that can fill an arena. The music behind her is a high-definition blend of crunchy alternative rock guitars and polished electronic textures that feel like they belong in a sci-fi epic.

What makes them truly distinctive is their visual and sonic commitment to 'progressive pop.' They don't just write songs; they construct worlds. Their production is maximalist, often layering heavy percussion with shimmering synths and aggressive guitar work, yet it never feels cluttered. There is a specific tension in their work between the coldness of the electronic elements and the raw, human heat of the vocal performance, creating a high-contrast listening experience.

Start with the album 'Cold Altair' to hear their foundation in dark, synth-driven rock, or dive into 'Zhyva i ne zalizna' for a more mature, nuanced exploration of their sound. If you are looking for their most iconic, high-energy moment, the single 'Helpless' showcases the perfect intersection of their folk-influenced melodies and modern rock power.

The Hardkiss (stylised as The HARDKISS) is a Ukrainian rock band formed in 2011, consisting of Julia Sanina (vocals), Valeriy Bebko (guitar), Klym Lysiuk (bass), and Yevhen Kibeliev (drums). Since the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the band has donated part of the proceeds from their work toward humanitarian aid, and they have performed numerous charity concerts. To date, the Hardkiss has released four studio albums, one EP, one live album, and numerous singles.
