Their debut, Seventeen Stars, was championed by Alan McGee and became the inaugural release on his Poptones label, cementing their status as cult favorites of the 'New Quiet' movement. Tranmer's background in instrumental, soundtrack-adjacent music provided a sophisticated harmonic foundation of piano and subtle electronics, while Quigley's lyrics focused on themes of romantic failure, urban isolation, and existential weariness. Despite a limited discography, their influence persists, notably evidenced by David Gilmour's 2024 cover of 'Between Two Points.'
