The Names

The Names are a seminal Belgian post-punk band formed in 1978, led by bassist and vocalist Michel Sordinia. They are most historically significant for their deep association with Factory Records and legendary producer Martin Hannett, becoming one of the few non-British acts to be fully integrated into the label's aesthetic orbit.

Their sound is a quintessential example of 'Coldwave,' blending the rhythmic tension of post-punk with the atmospheric textures of early new wave.
