Intro

The OBGMs deliver a relentless, high-octane brand of punk that feels like a physical confrontation. Their sound is defined by massive, overdriven guitar riffs and a rhythm section that hits with the precision and impact of a sledgehammer. There is a palpable sense of urgency in every track, driven by Densil McFarlane's commanding vocal delivery which oscillates between melodic hooks and raw, cathartic shouts.

What truly distinguishes the band is their origin as a hip-hop production duo. This background manifests in the rhythmic complexity of their songwriting; the drums don't just provide a beat, they drive the narrative with a swing and pocket often missing from traditional three-chord punk. The production on their later work, particularly 'The Ends', is dense and modern, favoring a 'wall of sound' approach that remains crisp enough to hear every snarl and cymbal crash.

Start with the album 'The Ends' to hear a band fully realizing their potential. It is a masterclass in modern punk tension and release, blending social commentary with personal grit. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who wants their rock music to feel dangerous, vital, and impossible to ignore.
