Intro

The Quiett offers a masterclass in cool. His sound is defined by a polished, effortless elegance that bridges the gap between the dusty crates of classic jazz-rap and the shimmering, bass-heavy world of modern trap. There is a persistent sense of space in his music, where every snare hit and piano chord feels intentional and expensive. It is music that sounds like a well-tailored suit: precise, comfortable, and undeniably high-end.

What truly sets him apart is his vocal temperament. Eschewing the aggressive shouting common in many rap circles, he maintains a steady, almost conversational deadpan that commands attention through sheer composure. This 'quiet' confidence allows the production to breathe, creating a luxurious atmosphere that feels equally suited for a late-night drive through a neon-lit metropolis or a focused session in a high-rise office.

To understand his evolution, start with 'Q Train' for his foundational jazzy production, then move to '1 Life 2 Live' to hear the peak of his Illionaire-era trap swagger. He is the ultimate curator of vibe, providing a soundtrack for those who prefer their success to be felt rather than shouted.

Shin Dong-gab (Korean: 신동갑; born January 29, 1985), better known by his stage name The Quiett (더콰이엇), is a South Korean rapper, composer, lyricist and record producer. He is widely known within the South Korean hip hop community for founding several major hip hop record labels, including co-founding record labels Soul Company in 2004, Illionaire Records in 2011, and Ambition Musik in 2016, the latter two with fellow rapper Dok2. He founded label Daytona Entertainment in 2020 and has remained since after Illionaire Records closed its doors.
