Intro

The Regime sounds like the smoke-filled interior of a customized SUV cruising through Oakland at 2 AM. It is characterized by a relentless, high-pressure energy that bridges the gap between West Coast G-funk grit and Midwest technical precision. The production often leans into heavy, compressed drums and dark, minor-key synth melodies that provide a menacing backdrop for a rotating cast of elite lyricists.

What truly distinguishes the group is their 'Dragon Gang' collective identity, which allows for a diverse range of vocal textures and regional slang to coexist on a single track. Unlike many supergroups that feel disjointed, The Regime maintains a cohesive, aggressive front, largely due to Yukmouth's curation and the shared 'Smoke-A-Lot' aesthetic. The chemistry is built on competitive verses where each rapper tries to out-flow the last.

Start with 'All Out War, Volume 1' to hear the group at their most hungry and unpolished. It captures a specific era of the mixtape circuit where the energy was raw and the lyrical content was unfiltered. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who appreciates the intersection of street storytelling and technical rap proficiency.

The Regime (stylized as The ReGime) is an American hip hop collective and supergroup created by Yukmouth in 1997, which originally included fellow rappers Tech N9ne, Phats Bossi, Madmax, Poppa LQ, Dizzle Don and Govnormatic. Not long after the original formation, Gonzoe of rap group Kausion and Lil Ke also joined. The group is signed to Yukmouth's Smoke-A-Lot Records, and share that label's dragon logo. Unlike most rap groups, the Regime's members are from different states and cities around the US. Besides guest appearances on numerous Yukmouth related projects, the group has released three mixtapes in the All Out War series and planned for their debut album to be titled Regime Dragon Gang.
