High-flying falsetto and pristine vocal harmonies that define the golden age of doo-wop. Sunshine pop with a rhythmic, playful heart for bright afternoons.
Formed in New York in 1955, The Tokens were an American doo-wop and rhythm and blues group. The ensemble, which featured members Jay Siegel and early participant Neil Sedaka, achieved significant commercial success during the 1960s. They secured four top 40 Billboard hits, most notably the 1961 chart-topping single The Lion Sleeps Tonight. Beyond their recording work for the Warwick label, the group also functioned as a record production company.
