Intro

These Kids Wear Crowns deliver an unapologetic blast of neon-hued power pop that feels like an endless Friday night. Emerging from the late-2000s Canadian alternative scene, their sound is defined by a relentless, high-octane fusion of driving rock guitars and bright, danceable synthesizer hooks. Every track is engineered for maximum hook delivery, utilizing massive group vocals and sugar-rush choruses that demand to be shouted along to.

What sets them apart is their seamless integration of dance-pop structures with the raw energy of a live rock band. While many of their contemporaries leaned fully into traditional pop-punk, this Chilliwack outfit embraced club-ready four-on-the-floor rhythms and glossy digital production. The result is a highly polished, hyper-melodic sound that bridges the gap between the festival stage and the dance floor, capturing the fleeting, euphoric spirit of youth.

To experience their signature energy, start with their 2011 full-length album Jumpstart. The record is a concentrated dose of their aesthetic, featuring the breakout single "Break It Up" and their vibrant, synth-heavy reimagining of Whitney Houston's classic "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." It serves as the perfect entry point to their bright, hook-filled catalog.
